Her husband, G.L. Martin was a civil servant. G.L. Martin is listed as a writer in the 1835 Asiatic Journal and Monthly RegisterOne George Louis Martin was placed under the magistrate and collector Behar 1835 and was the assistant under the commissioner of revenue and circuit of the 19th or Cuttack division 22d December 1835 exercising the powers of joint magistrate and deputy collector in Cuttack 9ih August 1837 [Source: The Bengal directory and annual register]. This George Martin married Helena Isabella, the daughter of the civil servant Robert Forbes. One cannot be sure that this is the same G.L. Martin
